Moss, Dr. Lawrence George – With heavy hearts the family wishes to announce the passing of Dr. Lawrence Moss in St. John’s on August 10th, in his 73rd year. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Malcolm. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Mary, son Bradley Moss (Suzette) of St. Philip’s, daughter Victoria Rabby (Justin) of Stony Plain, AB; grandchildren Rachel, Julianne and James Moss, Rayden and Asia Rabby; sisters Ruby White (Gordon), Margaret Smith, Cynthia Black (David), brother Malcolm Jr. (Nellie) and very wide circle of friends. Larry was raised in Eastport and studied at Memorial University and the University of Toronto, serving as the Superintendent of the Green Bay Integrated School District in Springdale until his retirement in 1997. His love of volunteerism led to his election as District Governor of Lions District 41-S1 and Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Newfoundland and Labrador. He instilled the values of community service and helping the less fortunate in his children and grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of giving. Special thanks go out to all Masons and Lions who went above and beyond in support of the family during his illness. Resting at the Masonic Lodge (Masonic Park – Mount Pearl), on Friday from 2p.m. -5p.m. and 7p.m. – 10p.m. Funeral service at St. Philip’s Anglican Church at 2PM on Saturday, August 13th, 1016. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Anglican Church, Eastport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Max Simms Camp.
